Lubrication Systems

Lubrication Systems

NBI is your trusted partner for automatic lubrication solutions. Our expertly designed and manufactured lubrication systems ensure efficient and reliable performance for your machinery, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.

We can optimise your port crane operations with our automatic lubrication systems. Grease lubrication is widely used at port crane machinery, they are mainly several centralised grease lubrication systems to cover the large build up area of port cranes.

A generic lubrication consists of the following components:

Pump station

Deliver a consistent flow of lubricant within the pressure specification.

Distributor

Also know as metering devices that distribute lubricant to the lubrication point via pipeline.

Monitoring device

Like pressure transducer to monitor the pressure of distribution line.

Control devices

Responsible for controlling the pump running time and monitors the pressure of the distribution line and operation of the distributor

NBI Intelligent Lubrication System

NBI revolutionise the lubrication for port industry with our unique design of Intelligent Discrete Distributor which is an upgrade of conventional lubrication distributor.

NBI Discrete Distributor is a lubrication distributor unit installed with a two-way solenoid valve allowing the control of grease flow into 2 flow channels within the distributor further distributing up to 16-outlets. Every outlet is equipped with a piston that is responsible for the quantitative injection volume. On top of that, every piston is installed with sensor to status of lubrication outlets. Pressure transducer and pressure gauge is introduced to the distributor unit to the monitor the end of line pressure for each distributor unit further providing the diagnostic and operation status of the distributor unit. Each lubrication output points/ lines can have different injection volume fully adjustable between 0.0 – 0.45ml/cycle. Our intelligent lubrication system is able provide real time status of each individual lubrication output points for every lubrication cycle

Our system advantages

Our system advantages

  • Discrete operation of the outlet, lubrication distributor outlets are independent from each, any single outlet failure will not impact on the remaining lubrication outlet.
  • Modular concept and scalable: distributor can be easily added with branch off from the main grease pipeline.
  • Modular control of each distributor based on greasing requirement.
  • Adjustable lubrication volume of every individual outlet.
  • Centralise real time status of every individual lubrication outlet.
  • Variety mode of control: Frequency Control, Volume Control and Pressure Control.
  • System comes with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and microcomputers to realise the fully automated lubrication solution.

Conventional Lubrication System

The common lubrication system are progressive lubrication system, single line lubrication system and dual-line lubrication system.

Progressive Lubrication System
Progressive Lubrication System

The progressive distributor distributes the grease flow from pump into progressive outlets by means of progressive spool arrangement. The first level of distributor is connected to the pump and second level distributor can be connected to the primary distributor depending on the pump pressure capacity.

The progressive distributor is subjected to single point of failure as the piston within is shared among all the outlet of the distributor, resulting in lubrication failure when one of the lubrication points is blocked.

Single Line Lubrication System
Single Line Lubrication System

Single line lubrication system has a pump unit to deliver through a single supply line to all single line distributor. Each distributor outlet only serves one lubrication point.

The distributors are independent of each other, the discharge volume can be adjusted and required high set-up cost to monitor the operation status of all the outlets.

Dual Line Lubrication System
Dual Line Lubrication System

The dual line lubrication system uses two main supply lines that supplied lubricant alternately from the high-pressure pump via the reversing valve block. The reversing action of the valve allow one main line to be pressurised while the other line is depressurised, thereby facilitating the flow of grease on one line at a single cycle.

The distributor comes with two supply line and the piston volume is limited to adjustment in working pair of outlets.
